Water ionizer vs RO purifier: do you need both?
An RO cleans water, an ionizer changes it. Most Indian homes need both. Here is how they work together.

They do different jobs
An RO purifier removes dissolved impurities, heavy metals and most minerals. It makes water safe. A water ionizer takes clean water and uses electrolysis to make alkaline, hydrogen-rich drinking water and acidic water for cleaning. It makes water better.
When you need both
If your source is borewell or tanker water with high TDS, you need an RO first. The ionizer is installed after it. The RO handles safety, the ionizer handles pH, ORP and hydrogen.
When an ionizer alone is enough
If you are on treated municipal supply with TDS under 300 ppm and no contamination issues, the ionizer can be installed with a simple sediment and carbon pre-filter.
What about mineral loss from RO?
RO water can be very low in minerals, which also makes it slightly acidic. An ionizer after RO restores a healthy pH, and a mineral cartridge can be added if TDS is very low. Our engineer checks this at installation.
