Alkaline water machine price in India (2026): what you really pay for

Three very different products share one name

Search "alkaline water machine" in India and you will see three different things:

• Alkaline RO purifiers (₹12,000 to ₹25,000): an RO with a mineral cartridge that raises pH slightly. No electrolysis, no hydrogen, no negative ORP.
• Water ionizers (₹50,000 to ₹5,00,000): electrolysis across platinum-titanium plates. Alkaline, hydrogen-rich drinking water plus acidic water for cleaning.
• Hydrogen water bottles (₹3,000 to ₹15,000): a small electrode in a bottle. Adds some hydrogen, does not change pH much.

What decides a water ionizer's price

1. Plates: platinum-coated titanium plates are the expensive part. 5 to 11 plates is the normal range for homes.
2. Power supply: an SMPS handles Indian voltage better than a transformer and costs more.
3. Controls: auto pH control, calibration, Wi-Fi and app add electronics and software.
4. Where it is made: imported machines carry duty, shipping and currency risk.
5. How it is sold: distributor networks add 30 to 50 percent.
